We photograph a lot of beach portraits, which we feel are the ultimate setting for a family portrait taken in Florida. But if you had a beach portrait in the past and want to do something different, consider a park setting for your next family portrait. In a park setting you have trees, grass and, depending on the location, a lake as your background. These images were taken at a park in Sarasota. There is also a very scenic park by our studio that we use. And last, but never least, you can use the outside of your home. How convenient is that? Prior to your session, we discuss items such as clothing, hair, poses, etc. to ensure you receive the best results for your portraits. For more information or to schedule your next portrait session, contact us at 941.488.7300 or email@example.com.
This beautiful bride and handsome groom chose one of most picturesque areas in Sarasota County for their wedding. Selby Gardens is an historic landmark with a spacious botanical garden surrounded on one side by the Sarasota Bay. Throughout the garden, we had an abundance of scenic areas to use for spectacular wedding backdrops for our couple. And as we posed Liz and Sean against the waters of the Sarasota Bay, we were blessed with a majestic sunset to end their day with some very romantic images.
You may be tempted to save money on your big day by asking a friend or family member who has little or no experience photographing weddings to be your wedding photographer for one of the biggest day of your life. Having a set of pots and pans does not make you a chef any more than having a camera and lens makes you a photographer.
While the name of the person in this story is fictional, it is based on real and unfortunate wedding photography horror stories we have heard of from friends, contacts, weddings guests, etc. Uncle Joe (fictitious character) recently purchased a state of the art digital camera with a professional lens and has taken shots of birds and flowers with his latest digital camera, so he is now a professional photographer. And now that he is a photographer, he offers to be your wedding photographer. After all, he owns a big black camera and lens. So that makes him a photographer, right? And since he was planning on being there anyway, he may do it for you as a wedding present. How great is that, you ask!
Wedding day comes and Uncle Joe arrives with one camera and lens, no backup equipment. Uncle Joe starts taking shots of the bride and bridesmaids. Uncle Joe did not take time to check the lighting and does not have the proper lights or no lights at all. Oh no, he sees the images are too dark. No problem, Uncle Joe raises the ISO. And this Uncle Joe is smarter than most because he knows all about ISO settings. Great he thinks to himself. Now he can now see the images. What he doesn’t know is that every picture will be too grainy to blow up more than a 4 x 6.
A lot of our clients may not know this, but we have another photography company in Sarasota called Always Forever Photography. With this company, all photography is done on location. We primarily photograph weddings and beach portraits. And as gratifying as this is, we always dreamed of owning a studio.
When the opportunity to buy Turner Photography came about, we agreed that purchasing a photography studio that had been in business in the Venice community for 26 years was a wise choice. The founder, Maggie Turner, is well known throughout the community. And for that reason, we decided to maintain the name of Turner Photography. And at the same time our other company, Always Forever Photography, had acquired a great deal of recognition on its own. So we decided to keep both companies and run them separately. By keeping both companies, our range of coverage extends from Anna Maria Island to Port Charlotte.
We keep separate records for each company, and each company has its own website, Facebook and Twitter account. However the pricing is the same for both. It can be a challenge at times. Organization and consistency in our business practices are what keeps the motors running on both of our companies…Turner Photography and Always Forever Photography.
Each senior is unique. Each senior is different. Each senior has something that is special and important to them. This senior is a dancer who loves her dog. We incorporated shots of Jessica with her dancing shoes and some with her cute dog. By adding items that are important to the student, such as school uniforms, sports equipment, musical instruments and yes, even the family cat or dog, the student’s photographs are personal, interesting and all about them. Because at Turner Photography….it is all about you!
